Freshman Orientation

Welcome to the King College Prep Jaguar Family! We are excited that you and your student will be joining us this fall and we look forward to meeting everyone soon.

Many of you are probably wondering about next steps for registering for the upcoming school year. Please note that CPS is still in the process of creating plans to reopen schools, however, we have planned the Becoming a Jaguar Virtual Experience just for our incoming freshmen.

On August 17th and 18th, we will host a mandatory virtual freshman orientation for 9th grade students and their parents/guardians via Google Meet. There will be several breakout sessions that will cover the high school transition, student expectations, digital learning & virtual protocols, a student panel, parent engagement, and KCP business. Assignments have been made according to last name and are below.

For students with last names A-L

Monday, August 17, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

For students with last names M-Z

Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Please click here to register for the appropriate session of freshman orientation. More details and links to the Google Meet sessions will be sent to your email one week prior to the event.
Again, welcome to King College Prep.

Summer of Algebra

Hello Parents and Guardians of King Summer of Algebra Students!
I am so excited to be working with your students. I am already impressed that they have seized this opportunity for enrichment. I am also thrilled to see that every student has already activated their cps.edu gmail account. I am reaching out to you to ask that you please have them open that gmail account and stay logged in throughout this class. I have just sent them an invitation to join our Google Classroom. This will be our primary connection throughout the course. Once they have joined, I can send an invite to you to "join" as a family member who will receive email updates on activities and assignments, if desired. I am so happy that King has this group of motivated students joining our school!

Web access along with either a chromebook with camera, a laptop with camera, a tablet with camera, or any computer along with a phone camera is required for this course. Please respond to this email or reach out to our Principal, Brian Kelly, at bkelly2@cps.edu to arrange to borrow one, if necessary. Thank you!
Looking forward to getting to know you all--
