KCP Students and Families
On Thursday, April 16, is the final day of the third quarter. In lieu of the scheduled report card pickup days next week, report cards will be mailed to high school families on April 23.
According to ISBE guidelines, all students had the opportunity to redo, make up, or try again to complete, show progress, or attempt to complete work assigned prior to the e-learning and remote learning time period. Student work completed during the mandated statewide school closure must not negatively impact a student’s grades or otherwise impact a student’s academic standing. We do not yet know the full extent of the closure and want to minimize any negative effects on students, schools may allow student work to count during the closure only to increase a student’s academic standing.
Grading during this time of closure focused on the continuation of learning. Students were not penalized, however if students have not engaged in remote learning, the current grade that students received on their 3rd quarter Progress Report from March 6th will stand.
If you have questions about grades, please contact your teacher. We are here to support students and parents as we shift to a virtual learning community.
